Turn One Long Video Into Shorts: An AI Workflow That Still Needs Human Review

AI can find candidate clips quickly, but it cannot reliably decide what your audience already knows, what your brand should avoid, or whether a sentence becomes misleading outside its original context.

A six-step production workflow

1. Prepare the source

Use the highest-quality original file and keep a separate master. Add a transcript or accurate captions when available. Mark sections that must never be clipped, such as unreleased data or customer information.

2. Generate candidates, not final posts

Ask the tool for several clip candidates with different lengths. Treat virality or engagement scores as suggestions, not evidence.

3. Restore context

Watch at least 15 seconds before and after every selected segment. Reject clips that alter the speaker's meaning, remove a necessary disclaimer, or turn a conditional statement into a certainty.

4. Correct captions manually

Check Korean spacing, names, numbers, units, product names, and English words. Large animated captions can hide errors rather than fix them.

5. Reframe for the subject

Verify that faces, demonstrations, slides, and screen recordings remain readable in 9:16. Automatic tracking often needs manual keyframes or a split layout.

6. Export and log rights

Record the source video, music license, stock assets, fonts, and publishing account. Save a clean master without platform overlays.

Final rule

Automation should shorten discovery and repetitive editing. A person should still approve context, factual claims, captions, rights, and the final frame before publishing.
